Passion, speed, and love for your work, are how you can describe the interview with Daniel Cará, a young driver-entrepreneur who currently competes in the F4 UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP POWERED BY HONDA, and with whom we were able to chat and learn about his beginnings in this sport, as well as his role as Co-Owner of the Cará Origin Motorsports Team and the goals it has proposed for the future.

The Begining

Speed and adrenaline run through the veins of the Cará family. Daniel shares with us that he started in motorsports at a very young age, first racing in the Kart series and later trying his luck in the Formula 4 series thanks to the support of his family, especially from his father.

Daniel´s passion for speed began when he was a child watching his father Miguel flying airplanes. Miguel Cará had an extraordinary professional career as an aviator pilot; a profession that even led the family originally from Brazil to settle in the United States, where they currently live.

My father and I share the same passion for speed and adrenaline; He in aviation where he carried out his professional career as an aviator pilot and I as a driver in motorsports, where I am just beginning to make my way in F4.”

Speed, passion, and business

Cará Origin Motorsports is the name of the team where Daniel competes on the F4 UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP POWERED BY HONDA circuit, in which he has obtained important achievements in his short but productive career in motorsports.

“We are a young, compact, and dynamic team. My father and I carry out many tasks to optimize costs and streamline its operation. That makes us a very efficient team in all aspects. Being a -START-UP- in the motorsports industry you must constantly overcome many challenges, and it is necessary to optimize resources and react quickly to compete at the highest level.”

Daniel shared in the interview that he likes to be involved in all aspects of his team, from off-season planning and defining the team strategy, to logistics, marketing, and, most importantly, physical and mental preparation for the season.

Think fast and be quick on your feet". Daniel Cará

Challenges ahead, lap after lap

Just like in business, there are good and bad decisions. A bad decision when trying to pass a competitor can cost you the entire race and therefore all the preparation before it; In business, a bad decision can cost a lot of money, but you have to be constantly motivated to overcome adversity and find new opportunities to reach the podium.

Daniel shared with us that being constantly motivated has led him to move forward. In addition to being a pilot and Co-Owner of Cará Origin Motorsports, he is currently studying Business Management at the University of San Francisco, which has allowed him to implement his knowledge applying it within his team.

Keeping yourself motivated is very important. Being a driver is not an easy task and even more so if you combine it with managing the team and college work. It requires a lot of time and sacrifice, but when you´re at the podium it´s gratifying”

Daniel shared that a normal day in his preparation begins very early, he dedicates around 2 hours of gym time focused on motorsports, and 2 hours of driving in simulators, in addition, he dedicates time to reviewing and seeing the team’s progress. Also, he manages to attend his studies in Business Management.

“In business, much like in racing, winning is not determined by the starting point. It’s the multitude of small choices made, lap after de lap, that propels you towards victory.”

The Pits

As an entrepreneur, when starting any journey, it is always important to surround yourself with experts and look out for mentors who can provide the necessary expertise to minimize risks when making important decisions.

Daniel shared with us that in these years he has sought to surround himself with good mentors who have provided him with advice, not only on the race track but also off it.

“I have a great and experienced network we have built in these years. Miguel Cará, my father, has provided me with his guidance and constant support at all times. Darryl Wills who was 3 time SCCA National Champion and driver coach, has supported me immensely on the track. Dr. Neil Walshe, from the University of San Francisco, has been instrumental in the development of Cará Origin Motorsports as a business. And Scott Goodyear, FIA Formula Regional and Formula 4 Race Director has been fundamental in my growth as a driver “

WORKHUB + CARA ORIGIN MOTORSPORTS, a growing duo

WorkHub and Cará Origin Motorsports have a lot in common. That is why both companies decided to make a growth collaboration relationship at the end of 2023.

“Without a doubt, when we had an approach with WorkHub we thought it was a great opportunity to connect and grow together, we both have the purpose to create opportunities for young people and make things happen. Furthermore, the passion with which they carry out their ideas and make them a reality is something we admire. It is unquestionably an alliance that will make us grow as a team and as people.”
